6days Discovery Journey to the Morocco’s Sahara Via the Desert Road starting by the Paradise Agadir

In brief:

A journey of 6days will allow you to discover the beaty of Morocco’s Sahara Desert. Our tour begins from the magical nature of Agadir and its beautiful beaches to Merzougas’ desert. Crossing over: Tiznit, Lagzira,Taroudant (an old preserved city), Zagora then Merzouga where we will visit the open gate of the big Sahara “Erg-Chebbi sand dunes”. After that, we head to Ouarzazate, the African Hollywood, where we can visit the Studio of Ait-Ben-Hadou. Finally, we drive back via Taroudant to reach Agadir for last.   

DAY 1 : Agadir – Tiznit – Mirleft – Legzira

Our tour trip starts in the morning to Paradise Agadir, at your hotel or the airport in Agadir, the modern and paradise city, also the economic capital of the region Sous-Massa. Then, we drive south & southeast along the Atlantic coast which offer panoramic views along the way. We will visit the city of Tiznit, known with its crafts oil and clay houses. Continuing through the charm beach of Aglou by a coastal road; lunch break in the region. Then, we head through the village of Mirleft and Sidi Ifni towards the beach of Legzira where we will have the night and dinner at a hotel in the site.

DAY 2 : Legzira – Tafraoute – Taroudant

Around 8/7am, in the morning, we drive towards Taroudant (small Marrakech) via the Atlantic coast. Crossing over Guelmim (where the big Morocco’s Sahara begin); on the way, you will enjoy the Anti-Atlas’ views of the small oases and Berber villages surrounded by a beautiful mountainous Saharan landscape. You will stop at the rocks of pints at the entrance of Tafraoute for photos and a walk over its huge blocks of pink-white granite, lunch in the site. Also, the road offers the charm views of mountains Full of argan trees. Around the late afternoon we reach Taroudant where we will have the night in a hotel/riad.

DAY 3 : Taroudant – Taliouine – Zagora

In the morning of that day, we will visit the medina of Taroudant, having a stroll around its traditional souks which is rich of crafts. Then, we continue to Taliouine (where Safran is made), through the latter we reach Kasbah el Glaoui (named after Glaui’s family). Around 3pm, in afternoon, we drive to the old fort of Agdaz (resting place of the ancient caravans). Later, through the great Draa Valley, the longest river in Morocco and the largest palm grove in the world. Finally, we reach our destiny Zagora in the late evening. Overnight and dinner in a hotel/riad.

DAY 4 : Zagora – Tazzarine – Merzouga

In the morning, you depart from Zagora (connects Marrakech to the south) to the desert Erg Chebbi (the open gate to the big Sahara). We cross over fortified oases and pre-Saharan ksours, to continue to the village of Nekoub, Tazzarine, and Alnif where we will have our lunch. Later we reach the origin of Alaouite Family (the instant Royal family) called Rissani, where the mausoleum of its founder Moulay Ali Cherif can be founded. By the end of the day, and after a camel ride, we will be at the golden dunes of Merzouga, Erg Chebbi. We will be sure to catch the panoramic sunset, and to spend the night in a traditional nomad tent enjoying the Berber music. Night in the site watching the stary sky.

DAY 5 : Boumalne Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou

After attending sunrise earlier in morning, we will head to the valley and the Dades Gorge through the oasis of Tinajdad and Todra Gorge, Tinghir. It’s an attractive tourism destiny especially for climbers. Lunch in the heart of gorge, then we will continue towards Boumalne, along its fascinating valley we will reach the center of the gorge. Then, we will drive to Ouarzazate (The African Studio) via the way of a thousand kasbahs, passing by the valley of roses in Kalaat M Gouna, known with its roses’ products. And next, we visit the Kasbah of Taourirte. After lunch in the site, you will go to the hidden oasis in the middle of the Anti-Atlas Mountains, known as Fint. Later on, we arrive at the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, local where tens of movies were shot such as Gladiator. Overnight and Dinner at a Kasbah’s hotel.

DAY 6 : Taznakhte – Taroudant – Agadir

In the morning of the last day of our Discovery Journey, we will drive back to Agadir. Crossing over Tazenakht, “the carpet capital”, the beautiful mountains of the Anti-Atlas, landscape between mountains and oases. Tazenakht, will be our resting-place for lunch, and through it Taliouine; Visit a local cooperative of saffron, then continue to visit the old city of Taroudant “the second Marrakech”, where you can visit the traditional souks (markets) of crafts and local products. Arrival in Agadir the last station of our tour.
