7 Days from Tangier to explore imperial cities 

Day 1: Tangier

On arrival at Tangier Airport, you will be met by representatives of the agency and transferred to your hotel (depending on arrival time).

Day 2: Tangier – Tetouan

Your stay begins with a visit to the magnificent bay overlooking Gibraltar, Cap Spartel, the Caves of Hercules, the New Town and the Grand Socco. After lunch, depart for Tetouan. Tour of the city, archaeological museum and Moroccan art. Check-in at hotel, dinner.

Day 3: Tetouan – Chefchaouen – Fes

Departure to Fes via Chefchaouen and Ouazan. Chefchaouen, the heart of the Rif region, awaits you with its beautiful townscape of tree-shaded squares, cobbled streets leading up the hillside and painted houses. In the afternoon, visit Ouazan, a sacred site and an important pilgrimage site that did not need walls in the 17th century. Arrive in Fez by the end of the day. Installation and dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Fez

Discover Fez, the spiritual capital of Morocco. First, Fez el-Bali (Old City) and its historic sites: the Attarine Madrasah, one of the oldest universities in the world (9th century), the Nejjarine Fountain, the dyer’s quarter and the souks. Lunch in the old palace in Medina. After lunch: visit Fez El Jedid (New City) and its complex and the Royal Palace.

Day 5: Fez – Volubilis – Meknes – Rabat

Journey continues to Moulay Idriss, the holy city of Morocco’s first sultan, and the ancient Roman city of Volubilis. You will then arrive in Meknes, the capital of Moulay Ismail (18th century). After lunch, visit El hedim Square, the Bab Khmis and Bab Mansour gates, considered the most beautiful in Morocco, the former royal stables and the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. We then travel to Rabat, the political capital of Morocco, where we visit the Royal Palace Square, the Kasbah de Oudaya, Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of King Mohammed V. Hotel check-in, and overnight.

Day 6: Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech

Travel to Casablanca, the country’s economic heart and main port. You will see the residential area of Amphur, the UN Square with the Kingdom’s main institutions, the art nouveau decorated Mohammed V Street, the Corniche and the great Hassan II Mosque. Then return to Marrakech. Check in a hotel or riad, spend the night and have dinner.

Day 7: Marrakech

On the last day, visit the Menara Gardens, known as the ‘Jewel of the South’, the Koutoubia Mosque (12th century) and the ‘Bookshop Mosque’, so named because of its location in an old manuscript market with a 16th century Saadian tomb. In the afternoon, visit Medina, the historical center of the city. Stroll through the famous Jemaa el-Fna Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and meet the spice traders – tanners, dyers, blacksmiths and tanners – in the endless, colorful bazaars. After finishing the discovery of the red city, dinner will be in one of the riads in the heart of the medina.
